Abstract

Pipe bending is an important machining process in manufacturing, commonly encountered in the automobile, aviation, and fluid and gas pipeline industries, etc. This study focuses on constructing a 3D model of the pipe bending equipment and the pipe bending process with a jack, through the simulation tool integrated in SolidWorks, to analyze the CT38 steel pipe bending forming process with different bending angles. In addition, the paper also highlights the factors affecting the pipe bending forming ability such as curvature radius, pipe thickness, workpiece material, and inverse elasticity. Through the simulation steps, we can predict potential forming errors such as excessive deformation or shape instability, thereby optimizing the design before actual production. The research results can be used as a professional reference when bending the corner of pipe parts with different metal pipes, contributing significantly to reducing production costs and improving product quality.
