Abstract

From the models linking block codes, models combining encoder/modulator and decoder/demodulator with interlever, the article proposes new channel codes called New Concatenated Block Codes. These channel codes have the structure as following: outer codes are Extended Hamming Codes, inner code is a Single Parity-Check Bit, connecting sequentially through a block interleaver. New channel codes with two short codeword component codes of of extended hamming (16,11,4) and Single Parity-Check Bit (9,8) achieved a bit error ration (BER) of 6.10-9 with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 6 dB. The transmission system using New Concatenated Block Codes achieved a gain of 2 dB in power compared to Bit-Interleaved Block-Coded Modulation with Iterative Decoding (BIBCM-ID) models. This channel code mode could meet the criteria of simple encoding/decoding and good error control for short messages, hence be suitable for dynamic communication systems.
