Abstract

Self-study plays a crucial role in enhancing learning quality, especially in the National Defense and Security Education (GDQP&AN) course, where students not only acquire knowledge but also develop military skills and disciplined behavior. However, many students lack effective self-study methods, remain dependent on lecturers, and show limited initiative. Additionally, learning materials are not sufficiently visualized, facilities are inadequate, and motivation for learning is limited, all of which negatively affect knowledge acquisition. This paper assesses the current state of students' self-study, identifies key factors impacting learning quality, and proposes solutions to improve effectiveness. These solutions include guiding students in scientific study methods, developing visual learning materials, integrating technology, expanding practice spaces, promoting group study, and enhancing lecturer support. The comprehensive implementation of these solutions will help students become more proactive, improve knowledge acquisition, cultivate independent thinking, and reinforce disciplined behavior, thereby contributing to the overall quality of GDQP&AN training.
