Abstract

Copper alloy 260, a special brass, is widely used in the manufacturing industry such as automobile, architecture, electricity and electronics due to its high ductility, machinability and wear resistance. Some studies have shown that the structure of the material from macro to micro has a great influence on its mechanical properties. The study was conducted on three different test specimens under the same load conditions: porous, mesh and solid specimens measuring 100x100x100mm. The results showed that the solid specimen can withstand the compressive load best but the stress is concentrated at the load-bearing surface, the porous specimen can withstand lower loads but saves material, and the mesh specimen has a uniform stress distribution, high ductility and large deformation capacity. Each specimen is applied to the manufacture of specific machine parts based on its own outstanding properties.
